ARTEMIA
CYSTS FROM KAZAKHSTAN
Kazakhstan salt lakes are many
and varied in their Artemia population characteristics.
Mild diapausing cysts (MDC).
- Cysts that require
minimum cold storage to break diapause
- Hatch rate normally
very good, 80% plus
- Separation, shell
from newly hatched nauplii, excellent
- Biometric
characteristics
(will open in a new window)
Deep diapausing cysts(DDC).
- Cysts that require
maximum cold storage plus an accelerator to obtain full hatching potential
- Hatch without accelerant
40% to 60%
- Hatch with accelerant,
over 85%
- Separation of accelerated
product, excellent
- Biometric
characteristics

Cyst hatching tips.
- Start with a CLEAN
hatching container
- Supply adequate
air to keep cysts in suspension without bubbling out
- Strong illumination
- Temperature 27°-30°C
- pH>7.0, preferably
>8.0
- Salinity 15-30g/l
- 2-3g cysts per
liter
- If cysts are under
cold storage, allow to come to ambient for 48 hrs prior to incubation
Cyst storage tips
- Where possible
store under 4°C for long term storage (over 60 days)
- Store in sealed
containers (original packaging when possible)
- Short term storage
in air conditioned room
- Allow to come to
ambient temperature 48 hrs prior to incubation
- Premium

- Vacuum Tin of 500g,
454g or 425g-Clients choice, 12 tins per case
- Alu-foil vacuum
packaged in 500g and 1kg

cysts (>60% hatch rate)
- Silver Mylar Alu-foil
vacuum packed-15kg (exact weight to be determined?)
- Vacuum tins of
500g, 454g or 425g-(Client’s choice), 12 tins per case

DECAPSULATED ARTEMIA
- Based on low or
non-hatching cysts
- Chorion (shell)
is one-third of cyst weight
- Full one-third
more food per given weight of decap cysts
- High caloric content
- Small particle
size
- Essentially bacteria
free
- Good stand-by
food should cyst hatch fail

ARTEMIA
FLAKES
(click for large view)
- Refractance
Window™ dried Artemia Flakes
- Higher nutritional
retention than freeze-dry, spray-dry or drum-dry
- Better color retention
- Higher attractibility
- 98+% pure Artemia
- Small binder and
no fillers
- Can be easily micronized
to feed any larval stage
DAPHNIA
FLAKES
- Refractance
Window™ dried Daphnia pulicaria
- Great supplement
to feeding Artemia
- Excellent
usable protein source
- Less fouling
of culture tank
- Can be easily
sieved for correct particle size
ARTEMIA/DAPHNIA FLAKES
- Refractance
Window™ dried - 50% Artemia 50% Daphnia
- Great combination
of two natural zooplanktons
- Higher portion
of usable protein
- Less fouling of
culture tank
- Can be easily sieved
for correct particle size
APHANIZOMENON FLOS-AQUAE POWDER
- Spray Dried powder
approximately 10 micron particle size
- Great for mobilization
of Natural Killer Cells
- High in phycocyanin
- Excellent to stimulate
first feeding
- Natural tank shading
- Polysaccharides
to stimulate repair damaged tissue
SPIRULINA POWDER
- Spray Dried powder
approximately 10 micron particle size
- Good for initiating
first feeding
- Excellent pigments
- Immunostimulant
